Brian Gullikson
Founder, President, DLS
Brian Gullikson, the Founder and President of NorthLine Surveying, brings over 20 years of extensive experience in professional land and construction surveying. He is highly skilled in a variety of surveying methods and processes, including heavy civil and structural construction, tunneling, multi-level building projects, DNR and BLM surveys, topographic and boundary mapping, platting, digital scanning and modeling, and sUAS drone surveys. As the driving force behind NorthLine Surveying's culture, Brian oversees business operations, contracts, staff, and procedures, ensuring a "whatever it takes" approach to service. As the Designated Land Surveyor, Principal-in-Charge, and Senior Project Manager, he excels in managing and directing teams to complete projects successfully while fostering strong client relationships. Brian's diverse skill set spans field surveying, drafting, estimating, project management, risk management, and business development, making him a vital resource for all aspects of the business.

James (Jim) Purkey
Survey Project Manager
Jim has over 40 years of experience in large public works and private sector projects. He has been responsible for boundaries, rights-of-way, mapping, and construction activities. With 25 years in management and supervisory roles, he has overseen up to eight field survey crews and five office technicians. Jim manages both field and office operations, develops data collector programs and field procedures, and supervises survey crews. His responsibilities include estimating projects, performing boundary calculations and determinations, composing and interpreting legal descriptions, and calculating all construction staking and as-built measurements.
In his key role in coordinating, managing, and organizing Professional Land Survey projects, Jim serves as the primary point of contact for all projects he oversees. He possesses extensive experience in various types of Professional Land Surveying and contracting with public agencies. Highly knowledgeable about the requirements, procedures, and best practices necessary to provide professional land surveying services from setup to completion, Jim ensures oversight of all work and staff on the projects he manages. He would serve as the primary project manager for this work and has significant experience with on-call professional services contracts, having successfully completed numerous projects in this capacity.

Tim Couevas
Survey Project Manager/Estimator
Tim Couevas brings over 20 years of experience in construction and surveying, with a strong background in boundary and topographic surveying. Holding a Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Management, Tim has worked on numerous high-profile projects, including the Judy Reservoir to Mount Vernon Transmission Pipeline and the West Cashmere Bridge Replacement. He manages all aspects of coordination, scheduling, and performance on his projects, while actively participating in on-site survey activities such as control verification, settlement monitoring, and construction staking. Tim's expertise spans a range of services from civil and structural design to flood repair and road construction, making him a valuable asset to every project he oversees. Outside of work, Tim enjoys spending time with his family and is an avid football fan with a love for movie trivia.
Nicolas Guillen Rosenstein
Survey Project Manager, CAD Manager
With 22 years of experience in the heavy civil construction industry, Nicolas Guillen Rosenstein has developed extensive expertise in applying survey data to civil construction and constructability. Starting with field experience, he transitioned into plan interpretation, data preparation, and quality control for field surveyors. Nicolas manages both commercial and private sector projects, delivering expert land surveying services and construction survey layouts. His experience spans various disciplines, including boundary and civil construction, and he understands client needs in terms of deliverables and collaborative project management. Based in Bellingham, Nicolas enjoys outdoor activities such as skiing, fishing, and kayaking with his family. When not outdoors, he can be found online, exploring Discord servers and MMORPGs while hunting for concert tickets.

As a key member of the Northline Surveying team, Tamara has played an instrumental role as the primary quality control officer, ensuring the highest standards in every project. She has also seamlessly stepped into the role of Contracts Manager when needed, balancing her drafting duties with her leadership responsibilities. Her versatility and dedication make her an invaluable asset to the team, contributing significantly to the success of each project.
Bryce D. Shepherd
Survey Project Engineer
With over 25 years in the construction industry, including 20 years as a survey party chief, Bryce D. Shepherd has a deep understanding of boundary, topographic, and hydrographic surveying. His expertise spans quality control, cutsheets, exhibits, plots, and DNR Monument Replacement Exhibits, making him a key resource for both clients and municipalities. Bryce has worked on a wide range of projects, from ALTA surveys and aerial photo control to construction staking, GPS surveys, and topographic mapping. He has played an instrumental role in training and developing others into Party Chief positions. His notable project experience includes high-profile projects such as the SR 520 Montlake Project, Northgate Mall 2017, and Pier 27 for the Americas Cup in San Francisco. Bryce's skills extend to construction layout, survey staking, and hydrographic surveys, which have been vital to the success of complex infrastructure projects.
